Full Body Surround®
In addition to the box spring, support is also achieved through the customized assembly of side, bottom, and top support pieces. Full Body Surround™ (FBS) completely encompasses the mattress core to mitigate body impressions and provide:
1. Superior edge support
2. Full side-to-side sleep surface
3. Customized support base
4. Customized top comfort layer
5. No roll-out or roll-together feeling
6. Pressure relieving surface
The surface of each FBS system is customized to provide the right combination of comfort and support for each body.
Cushion Cloud® Construction
Cushion Cloud ® Construction is a patented manufacturing process that allows the mattress to properly conform to the body for proper postural support and pressure relief. Mattress conformity provides better weight distribution and less pressure on any given area of the body, eliminating the need to toss and turn to find a comfortable position. Cushion Cloud ® Construction also uses power inner tufting in its construction to eliminate the shifting/migrating of layers.
Vertical Zoning®
Vertical Zoning ® allows the body to “float” in its natural position through precisely layered comfort materials to its own level of need. Each layer works with the layer above and below to eliminate pressure point buildup while maintaining proper support.
Flexatron®
Kingsdown® customizes not only the surface comfort layers of the mattress, but also the support base. At the core of FBS is the Kingsdown® premium spring unit, featuring our patented, hypoallergenic Flexatron® insulator. Flexatron® is a self ventilating cushioning material that does not allow the absorption of water. Both odor free and mildew resistant, Flexatron® helps to deliver superior deep-down comfort and pressure relief.
Proper Box Spring or Foundation
Every Kingsdown® box spring and foundation support unit is carefully hand-assembled using the finest materials available in the industry. The box spring works as a shock absorber to lessen the pressure on the body and allow uninterrupted sleep for a longer period of time. In fact, it prolongs the life of the mattress, and does 60% of the work of the sleep system to support the body.

Proper support means your head, shoulders, hips and heels are in alignment, allowing the spine to receive vital nutrients for a healthier back. Kingsdown® sleep systems use state of the art materials to provide proper support and allow the body to rejuvenate so you wake up fresh and ready for your day.
Kingsdown® box springs and foundations are engineered to work with the mattress to properly distribute body mass and weight. The support unit enhances body conformance and works as a shock absorber to lessen the pressure on the body and allow uninterrupted sleep for a longer period of time. In contrast, a non-flexible or rigid support unit impedes the ability of the mattress to fully conform to your body’s contours, and forces you to conform to the mattress (pressure build-up), instead of the mattress conforming to you (allowing comfort).
Mattresses with surfaces that are too firm cause pressure build-up on the body. Valuable sleep is disturbed when subtle pain causes you to wake up, and toss and turn to find a more comfortable position. Kingsdown ® sleep systems offer pressure relief through low-pressure sleep surfaces, allowing you to stay in one position longer and experience deeper, undisturbed sleep.
In addition to the sleep surface, Kingsdown® mattresses also provide deep-down comfort through Cushion Cloud® Construction. Cushion Cloud® Construction allows the comfort layers to provide proper spinal alignment and pressure relief so the mattress will properly conform to the body. Mattress conformity provides better weight distribution and less pressure on any given area, eliminating the need to toss and turn to find a comfortable position.
No Conformity = Bad Support
A mattress that is too firm may not properly support your body; this may cause aches and pains after continued use. Note the spine
does not maintain its natural position and the pelvis region is pushed up,
creating poor support for the lumbar region. The whole body is out of its
natural position optimal for quality restorative sleep.
Conformity = Good Support
Note the natural alignment when proper support is provided. When the mattress conforms to YOU, it supports the natural arches of your body, and does not force it into an unnatural position. A mattress that delivers proper support allows for natural body alignment; you will wake up refreshed and rejuvenated.
